Dr. Raghavendra Pathak

A retired Army doctor who lives at Pipalkothi.

In 1984, he was transferred to Pipalkothi from Pune, and he has been living there since then—the changes he has witnessed over the decades are narrated in the conversation. The most notable among the changes is the disappearance of the bird Chaez, which during winter roamed around his garden in the snow. Now slowly the snows disappeared, and so did the bird, which is now available in higher snowy regions.

The developmental work brought changes in the environment, which he complained changed their locality, as his villages had been completely taken over by a power company, people were displaced in various areas, and their cultural activities had ceased.
